A new blog post and this one is specifically for all the ladies out there😊 In my previous post, I’ve shared my travel essentials checklist – to help you avoid any last-minute hassles before you travel. I’m going to do a deeper dive into that checklist here and talk about my travel makeup essentials that I always carry.
My Travel Makeup Essentials
For makeup lovers, choosing just a few items to carry during your travel, can seem like a daunting task. To find a way around this, I try to keep my look pretty basic and minimal while I’m traveling. This is predominantly because you hardly have the time for creating a runway-ready look on a trip.
I used to carry a lot of travel makeup earlier but slowly realized that I would eventually use just a few of them. So I’ve shed the excess baggage and essentially this is what I now carry when traveling:
- Skin Visage/Primer – MAC Prep+Prime Skin
- Compact – MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation in NC42 is what I use
- Kohl and a smudge brush – Maybelline Colossal Kajal Super Black
- Lip Primer – MAC Prep+Prime Lip
- Lipsticks in 2-3 different shades for day & night – For example, MAC Mehr, MAC Mocha and MAC Girl About Town
Apart from these, here are a few other essentials that come in handy while traveling:
- Tissues
- Facial Wipes
- Hand Sanitizer
- Hairbrush
- Hair ties
- Lip balm
- Face Wash
Pro Tip: For items such as hand sanitizer, lip balm and face wash, always carry small travel-sized packs. Also, if you’re a lazy bum like me when it comes to removing makeup, facial wipes can come in extremely handy.

I totally related to the last point. Facial wipes are like angels for people who feel too lazy to remove their makeup.
