“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.” – Bernice Johnson Reagon
Has your health ever gotten in the way of your travel plans? I’m not talking about situations where you visit a place and succumb to a cold or fever. I’m talking about traveling with pre-existing medical conditions that are likely to be with you lifelong.
I’ve come across many websites and online advisory that recommend you not to travel with a pre-existing medical condition. Well, take it from a person suffering from fibromyalgia and depression. If you’re living with it, you might as well travel with it.
If your health is stopping you from doing the things you love, think about the amazing athletes participating in the Paralympics. These individuals have taken their physical challenges in their stride and don’t let anything stop them.
The lovely Leanne Scott, a doctor and an adventure traveler, tells you why your health should never stop you from traveling. She features the stories of 10 individuals, including myself, about what it is like to travel with a medical condition and what keeps us going.
Of all the guest posts I’ve been featured in so far, this is the most special one. It’s a truly inspirational read and if you want to check out my story in particular, just follow this link.
I hope it gives you the motivation to tackle all of life’s challenges head-on. And if your health has been stopping you from traveling, it’s time to start.
